Speaking to the press, President Karl-Heinz Rummenigge could not hide his joy after acquiring one of Europe's top strikers, saying: "Lewandowski is one of the best strikers in the world right now. With this player, Bayern Munich's strength will increase exponentially."

Lewandowski is the second Dortmund player to join Bayern Munich in two consecutive years. Last year, Mario Gotze also left for the "Bavarian giants" for a record fee of 37 million euros.

Currently, the salary Bayern will offer Lewandowski has not been disclosed. However, according to the media, since they did not have to pay a transfer fee for the striker (whose contract with Dortmund expires at the end of the season), Bayern will likely pay the Polish forward a generous salary.

Lewandowski's move to Bayern will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the other strikers currently playing for the team, especially forward Mario Mandzukic.

In response to concerns raised by the press, chairman Rummenigge spoke out to dispel rumors, affirming that Mario Mandzukic remains the future of the team despite the signing of Robert Lewandowski at the Allianz Arena.

"We are very pleased with Mario Mandzukic's performance," Rummenigge said. "He contributed a great deal to the club's trophies last season. He is a great player, one who has thrived at Bayern."

"Mario's contract with Bayern is still valid until June 30, 2016, and we have spoken with his agent, but it was not a discussion about selling Mario (Mandzukic)."
