Nepal police spokesman Kamal Singh Bom confirmed that a private Mountain Air helicopter crashed in the Yamuna Dada area.

A police team immediately arrived at the scene and reported finding four deceased victims, including three men and one woman.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the helicopter crashed while participating in earthquake relief efforts in the area. However, details of the incident have not yet been released.

Earlier in May, a U.S. Marine Corps UH-1Y Huey helicopter carrying six US Marines and two Nepalese soldiers went missing during a relief flight to aid earthquake victims in eastern Nepal.

Before disappearing, the crew informed ground control that the aircraft was experiencing fuel problems.

The 7.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25th, along with its aftershocks, killed at least 8,600 people and destroyed tens of thousands of homes. Less than three weeks later, another 7.4 magnitude earthquake devastated the country. Earthquakes also affected neighboring countries such as India, China, and Bangladesh.
