Ronaldinho and the options to help Barca 'put out the fire' in the Dembele case
Barcelona have been dealt a huge blow after their €105m signing Ousmane Dembele suffered a hamstring injury and will be out for four months. The Catalan giants will need to find a replacement in the meantime. Here are some of the quality free agents who could arrive at the Nou Camp.
1. Ronaldinho
Although he is no longer as agile as before, at the age of 37, Ronaldinho still has the technique of a world-class superstar. Barca fans are probably also very happy to welcome the former Brazilian international back to the Nou Camp after nearly a decade away. In 5 seasons with the Catalan giant, "Vẩu" Rô won 2 La Liga championships, 1 Champions League and 2 World Player of the Year awards.
2. Antonio Cassano
Cassano's talent is undeniable, and he is currently unemployed after leaving Hellas Verona. However, the issue of discipline is something Barca should consider carefully, as the Italian striker is known for many scandals both on and off the field.
Most recently, Cassano has announced his retirement twice but has never done so. At the moment, the striker born in 1982 is looking for a new destination in the January 2018 transfer window.
3. Jose Antonio Reyes
Reyes has plenty of experience in La Liga, having spent many years fighting at Sevilla, Atletico and Espanyol. However, there is no guarantee that the 34-year-old star will agree to join Barca, because according to some sources, Reyes is preparing to sign a 2-year contract with Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League.
In the past, Reyes won 3 consecutive Europa League titles with Sevilla in the 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons, or was part of Arsenal's unbeaten squad in the 2003/04 season.
4. Diego Capel
Capel was once considered one of the brightest young talents in Europe, but his career gradually declined while playing for Sevilla. Last August, the 29-year-old winger was released by Anderlecht after only 12 months.
5. Mark Gonzalez
Gonzalez spent many years playing in Spain before joining CSKA Moscow, Universidad Catolica, Sport Recife or Colo-Colo. At 33 years old, it would be a great honor if Gonzalez attracted the attention of Barca and accepted the invitation to move to the Nou Camp as a temporary measure.
6. Diego Forlan
When it comes to Forlan, any defender must be wary when he had a period of explosive play at Villarreal and Atletico. Although he is 38 years old, Forlan still plays quite impressively at Mumbai City Club (India). Returning to La Liga in Barca's shirt would be something wonderful for the Uruguayan star in the final years of his career.
