Goals: Ronaldo 2', Benzema 55'
Before the trip to Malaga, Real Madrid were three points ahead of Barcelona. They therefore only needed to avoid defeat to complete their dream of winning La Liga after five years. However, Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates did more than that, although Malaga also created many dangerous situations in front of goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
Ronaldo decided the fate of the match in the second minute. A mistake in the Malaga defense's passing allowed Isco to make a through ball for Ronaldo to break through. The Real striker decided to dribble past goalkeeper Carlos Kameni with a long push and then finish into an empty net.
Similar to the opening goal in timing, Real's second goal came shortly after the second half began. From a corner kick,Captain Sergio Ramos shot straight at the goalkeeperKameni bounced off. After hitting another Real player, the ball fell right to Karim Benzema in the 6m50 area and he did not miss the chance to double the gap.

While Real took the better of their chances and scored two goals in decisive moments, Malaga wasted most of their efforts on inaccurate shots. The home team had more shots (19 to 15), but only five were on target.
Former Barca player Sandro Ramirez was the one who threatened Real's goal the most. In the first half alone, the striker wearing the number 19 shirt had three powerful shots that almost resulted in goals. Goalkeeper Navas made excellent saves on two of these three shots, while the remaining situation saw the ball go just a few dozen centimeters over the crossbar.
