Ronaldo scored a free kick, Real won the FIFA Club World Cup

CR7 scored the decisive goal with a direct free kick in the final where Real beat Gremio 1-0.

Starting with the same starting lineup as last season's Champions League final, Real dominated Gremio. While Ronaldo and his teammates constantly controlled the ball, their Brazilian opponents had to put almost all of their players on defense.

Real's only problem was the finishing. Most of their attacks were ineffective. Varane missed the ball by inches twice in the box, Ronaldo had a long-range shot wide and was caught in front of Grohe once. Dani Carvajal almost scored when he volleyed a defender off his leg, and Luka Modric's left-footed shot went just wide of the post.

Real dominated the match from the first minute.

Gremio had only one rare shot in the first half when Edilson's free-kick went over the bar from 35 yards.

Real's attacking efforts finally paid off early in the second half. After disappointing with a long-range shot that missed the target by three metres, Ronaldo made up for his mistake with a decisive free-kick.

Gremio's defense also contributed to the loss when it lightly touched the ball and changed direction after Ronaldo's shot. From there, the ball went deep into the near corner and made goalkeeper Grohe react helplessly.

Real created more clear-cut chances after the opener, but failed to capitalize. Ronaldo had a backheel that bounced off a defender and Modric had a long-range shot hit the post. Goalkeeper Grohe also saved at least three goals in the second half for Gremio, having to deal with shots from Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale.

Winning with the minimum score, Real won the FIFA Club World Cup in the joy of the fans. This is also the third time Real has won the title, equaling Barca's record.

In the third place match, Pachuca (Mexico) defeated host Al-Jazira with a score of 4-1.
