Stick to the grassroots, put activities into practice

Stage 1 of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign took place at the same time as the 10th grade entrance exam and the high school graduation exam. These are two important exams, and they took place in a hot climate, so more than ever, the union members and youth have implemented many activities to support students before, during and after the exam.

Notably, the “Green Shirt Tutor” model has mobilized a large number of union members and youth at the Youth Union bases to participate effectively. For example, in Thanh Chuong district, the Standing Committee of the District Youth Union has directed 100% of the Youth Union bases in the district to implement the model “Each young teacher, each student supports 01 candidate to review for the National High School Graduation Exam”. Accordingly, 30 teams have been established with 15 young teachers and 40 students with good academic achievements in the localities to support knowledge review, answer questions, and difficult exercises for nearly 60 12th grade students.

The District Youth Union also deployed information channels to receive support needs from candidates. Classify and develop support plans appropriate to needs and wishes, focusing on supporting students in difficult circumstances.

Not only Thanh Chuong, this movement also spread widely throughout the province with typical localities such as Yen Thanh, Quynh Luu, Do Luong, Nam Dan... Many students with difficult circumstances have been motivated to complete the exam better.

Phan Thi Thuong (born in 2005) in Lien Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district shared: "If it weren't for the "green shirt tutor" accompanying me, I probably wouldn't have been able to complete my exam so well. Because my mother went to work far away from home since I was a child, my father single-handedly raised three children in a situation full of deprivation, hardship and illness. Understanding my situation, Lien Thanh commune's Youth Union arranged for Ms. Tran Thi Tuong - a student of the Faculty of High-Quality Mathematics at Vinh University to help me review for the exam. Thanks to the experience and knowledge that she taught me, I was able to complete almost all of my exam."

In addition to providing spiritual support for students before the exam, during the peak days of the high school graduation exam, more than 200 volunteer teams, with more than 2,700 Nghe An youths, have implemented many meaningful activities to provide maximum support to students at 70 exam sites across the province.

Previously, at the 10th grade entrance exam, there were 315 volunteer teams with a total of more than 3,000 union members and youths in the whole province ready to support the candidates. These teams deployed free pick-up and drop-off for candidates in special circumstances, remote areas, disabled candidates... At the same time, they organized the cooking of thousands of free meals, free drinking water and provided instructions on traffic flow to ensure traffic safety in a safe and effective manner.

Comrade Tran Linh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Student Association affirmed that with careful preparation, scientific and tight organization plan, the volunteer youth force of Nghe An youth has made an important contribution to coordinating with agencies, departments and branches throughout the province to well implement support for the recent 10th grade entrance exams and high school graduation exams.

One particularly creative thing in Nghe An is that at the exam sites, the youth volunteer force has coordinated with the local police branches to set up guidance points, register, and activate VNeID electronic identification accounts for parents of candidates and people while waiting for candidates to complete the exam.

This is one of the meaningful activities contributing to the effective implementation of the peak month of the Government's Project 06 on "Developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period 2022 - 2025, with a vision to 2030".

With the theme "Nghe An Youth Greening Electronic Identification Accounts", the whole province has more than 6,000 union members and young people participating in volunteer teams to support thousands of people. This force has directly gone to villages, hamlets and villages to guide people to activate and use electronic identification accounts. In particular, to promptly overcome difficulties and problems of people about not being able to activate electronic identification accounts, Nghe An Provincial Police coordinated with Nghe An Provincial Youth Union to launch a peak emulation campaign to mobilize all union members and young people in the province. Not only supporting during the day, at night, the union members and young people have effectively coordinated with police officers and soldiers to diligently guide people.

After launching the peak emulation campaign "Towards the grassroots, greening electronic identification accounts", Nghe An youth supported the activation of tens of thousands of accounts. In addition, the youth of the whole province supported the improvement of digital capacity for 20,300 youths and people.

Many activities to care for young people

Entering the first days of the campaign is also the time when Nghe An enters the peak hot season, with many potential risks of drowning in children. Therefore, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and the Council of the Young Pioneers of Nghe An province have directed the Youth Union and Young Pioneers organizations at all levels to strengthen propaganda work to change awareness about drowning prevention, targeting not only students but also their parents.

At the same time, mobilize all resources to effectively implement models to prevent drowning accidents and injuries for children in a synchronous manner throughout the province. Through these programs, many youth union organizations have mobilized social resources to donate life jackets, life buoys, and deploy a series of free swimming classes for children.

By the end of Stage 1, the province had organized more than 300 free swimming classes, more than 400 free English and skills classes for children with the participation of more than 5,300 children. At the same time, more than 260 playgrounds for children were renovated and built.

To care for disadvantaged children, the province has presented nearly 4,000 gifts to disadvantaged students; built two “Red Scarf” houses worth 140 million VND and repaired and built 6 new hygienic toilets in school areas and public places for children; examined and provided medicine to more than 8,000 children in the province...

Along with that, in Phase 1, there were two programs that attracted the attention of many people, namely the "Military Semester" class successfully organized from May 28 to June 6, 2023 at the Military School of Military Region 4. This program attracted more than 500 students in and outside the province to participate. Along with that, the Nghe An Province Life Skills Summer Camp 2023 was held from June 25 to July 2, 2023 at the Nghe An Province Youth Activity Center with the theme "Forging courage - Practicing skills - Children grow up" also attracted hundreds of children to participate.

At the end of the program, the children were educated in patriotism, national pride; and honored a beautiful, positive, ethical, civilized and modern lifestyle. Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang (born in 1982, Vinh city) whose child participated in the program shared: “Being away from my child for 10 days is not easy, but the results that I and my family received were extremely worthy. Because my child became more mature, more independent, trained in life skills, improved adaptability in a disciplined environment to be more steadfast in life.”

The Youth Union members also became the pioneers in supporting working days to help 30 families in Ky Son and Tuong Duong districts transport materials and pour concrete to build houses under the housing support program of the Provincial and local police; At the same time, they supported the construction of bridges for people, rural roads, and the construction of bright - green - clean - beautiful roads...

Looking back on the meaningful journey, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Le Van Luong affirmed that the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign has passed 1/3 of the way and the initial results show the outstanding efforts as well as the volunteer and pioneering spirit of the youth of the whole province. Through these action programs, it has shown the flexibility and creativity of the union members and youth in implementing tasks to adapt to all circumstances, all locations, all times. It is also a positive environment for this force to practice and mature.

For the remaining two stages of the Campaign, the Youth Union at all levels will continue to innovate content and methods to enhance digital transformation in the activities of the Youth Union; At the same time, deploy projects and tasks that bring practical values ​​and benefits to the community. In particular, pay attention to and focus on implementing many activities towards difficult areas, remote areas of the province with the spirit of "wherever there is a need, there are youth, wherever there is difficulty, there are youth./.
