Rooney confesses: "Most shy" of Maldini and Terry

Striker Wayne Rooney has just admitted that the loss of central defender John Terry is a huge loss for the England team.

Half a month ago, Chelsea midfielder John Terry suddenly said goodbye to the England national team because he could not stand the FA's treatment and the pressure he had to endure surrounding the incident related to racism. Most recently, Terry was even more disappointed when the FA found him guilty and fined 220,000 pounds and suspended him for 4 matches. All of these reasons made him no longer want to continue serving the national team.

For Wayne Rooney and the Three Lions players, Terry's sudden end to his international career was a huge surprise and a huge loss. In an interview with the press, the Man United striker affirmed: "John Terry is a great player that England has ever had. He is a classic central defender who is always strong, steady and never afraid of opponents."

"It's unfortunate that Terry has announced his retirement from international football and we have to respect his decision," Rooney said. "Obviously, Terry's retirement is a huge loss for England. I'm sure of that because in my career, he and Paolo Maldini of AC Milan were the two defenders who gave me the most trouble and were the hardest to get past."

"England will definitely miss Terry."
