Having just finished his fifth motorbike before 7am, a car wash service owner in Dien Chau town had to call his wife to help because there were too many customers.

He shared: My family has been doing car wash service for 5 years, but this year we see that the number of cars has increased a lot. From the 20th of the lunar calendar, it has started to get busy, like today (30th of Tet), before the shop opens, people have knocked on the door asking for a car wash.

Most car washes are overloaded. A female car wash service owner in Hung Binh Ward (Vinh City) said: My family has hired more staff and increased working hours, but with the large number of cars, people have almost no time to rest. Every day, my shop washes about 30 cars and nearly 100 motorbikes of all kinds, double the usual number.

Currently, the price of car and motorbike washing services has increased. Cars increased from 50,000 to 70,000 - 120,000 VND depending on the car and the number of seats. Large cars will have higher prices. Motorbikes usually range from 15,000 - 20,000 VND/car, but these days they have increased to 30,000 VND/car. For large trucks and passenger cars, more people and effort are needed, so the price is over 200,000 VND/car.

However, customers also face many risks when washing cars during Tet. Due to the large number of customers, some shop owners only wash cars hastily so that they can wash them for later customers. Even after washing, the cars have scratches and stains...

In addition, understanding the psychology of needing clean and beautiful cars for Tet, many car washes also take the opportunity to skyrocket prices, startling customers. Because prices are not listed, those driving "luxury" cars when entering the shop must agree on the price first, and should not wait until the car wash is finished to ask for the price and pay, to avoid unnecessary arguments./.
