Vibrant bougainvillea flowers adorn the roads in Tan Ky.

In Tan Da hamlet, farmers enthusiastically came to the end of the lane to tend to the eye-catching flower pots.

Mr. Nguyen Tat Thong, a local resident, said that because his family's land stretches along the road for a long distance, they need dozens of flower pots to accommodate the plants. His family bought dozens of cement pots and used many discarded car tires to create flower pots, thus reducing costs. Wherever they place the pots, they immediately buy bougainvillea plants to plant and carefully care for them daily by watering, pruning, and weeding. Bougainvillea comes in many different colors, making it visually appealing.

According to Mr. Phan Van Quynh, Head of the Tan Da Hamlet Front Committee, in implementing the commune's plan to launch the new rural road flower planting campaign, the hamlet has planted flowers along several main roads.

Accordingly, after the commune completed the concrete road and covered the drainage ditches, the households themselves contributed money to buy pots and flowers to plant along both sides of the road. With a flower pot placed every 3 meters, each pot, made of beautiful cement material, cost 250,000 VND, along with a bougainvillea plant costing 150,000 VND, totaling 400,000 VND per pot. Some households with long road frontage had to buy up to 20 flower pots to be enough, spending 7-8 million VND to contribute to beautifying the area.flower streetTo facilitate care and ensure vibrant flowers year-round, the villagers mainly plant bougainvillea. Besides creating flower-lined streets, the hamlet also encouraged residents to invest in street lighting along the roads.

Mr. Trinh Huy Toan, Chairman of the Ky Tan Commune People's Committee, said: After achieving the status of a new rural commune, the locality continues to improve the criteria, striving to achieve the advanced new rural commune standard by 2024. In addition to the criteria implemented according to regulations, the environmental criterion is a prominent focus of the local government and people. Accordingly, besides collecting waste according to regulations and paving roads to standard, residents in the hamlets are also competing to plant flowers and ornamental trees along the roadside to create a highlight.

Along with voluntary investment from residents in purchasing flower pots and plants, the commune has invested in building roads and drainage ditches... To date, all 7/7 hamlets in the commune have created flower-lined roads, with a total cost of over 500 million VND. Therefore, whenever anyone visits Ky Tan commune, they can admire the vibrant and colorful bougainvillea flower-lined roads. To have such beautiful flower arrangements, every family goes out to the roads early in the morning and late in the evening to care for the flowers and keep the village roads clean.
