Pine forest in Ha Tinh burned fiercely, people evacuated at night
On the evening of July 8, a fire broke out again in the Nam mountain area, bordering Son Chau and Son Thuy communes (Huong Son, Ha Tinh). The entire Nam area seemed to be engulfed in flames.
At noon on July 8, a forest fire broke out in the Nam Mountain area, Son Chau Commune, Huong Son District, causing great damage. Authorities had to work very hard to control the forest fire.
However, at 10pm the same day, the fire suddenly flared up again. The entire Nam mountain area was engulfed in flames.

According to the People's Committee of Huong Son district, throughout the night of July 8, local authorities mobilized district and commune officials, forest rangers, the military and local people to put out the fire. However, the fire broke out at night and the south wind was blowing strongly, so the fire could not be controlled at the moment.

The large-scale forest fire also affected the 35Kv power line, causing a power outage in the entire Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province.
Previously, at noon on July 8, a forest fire broke out at the above-mentioned Nam mountain but was extinguished by the forces on the afternoon of July 8. By the evening of the same day, the fire flared up again.
Mr. Hoang Quoc Huan, Head of the Ha Tinh Forest Protection Department, said: “Last night, the fire at Nam Mountain flared up again, forcing people in the affected area to evacuate all night. Since the beginning of the year, there have been 19 fire outbreaks, and 4 large fires. The burned forest area is about 160 hectares, causing damage of about 90 hectares. In which, the investigation agency is clarifying a forest fire caused by people burning fields.”
