Immediately after receiving the news of the forest fire, Nghi Xuan district mobilized more than 400 people including the following forces: Forest rangers, soldiers (District Military Command), Special Forces Battalion D31 (Command of Military Region 4), District Police and local people along with vehicles to focus on extinguishing the fire.

After more than 8 hours of unsuccessful efforts to put out the fire, at 9:30 p.m. on June 28, the fire continued to spread and approached the houses of households in residential group 1, Xuan An town (Nghi Xuan - Ha Tinh).

Nearly 1,000 people from the provincial Military Command, Ha Tinh Provincial Police, and Nghi Xuan District authorities actively participated in fighting the fire and supporting 80 households in residential group 1, Xuan An town to evacuate their properties, avoiding loss of life and property when the fire spread.

Faced with the critical situation of the fire, Nghe An province provided 5 modern firefighting vehicles and 30 rescue officers and soldiers to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

As of 10:30 p.m. on June 28, the fire continued to spread on the mountaintop. The plan proposed by the firefighting forces was to cut the road around the foot of the mountain and spray water to create a trench to prevent the fire from spreading to people's houses. According to initial statistics, the surrounding houses were protected, there were no human casualties, but several hundred hectares of forest were burned down.
