According to the investigation records, at around 3:00 a.m. on February 22, the Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station received a report from the Quang Ninh Provincial Police that three Chinese suspects who had committed economic crimes were moving to Mong Cai city, possibly leaving for China.

After receiving the information, the Border Guard Station deployed forces to control and ambush this group of people.

At around 6:30 a.m., at the border area of ​​Zone 2, Ka Long Ward, the patrol team discovered 3 people with suspicious signs and identifying characteristics matching the report, so they conducted an administrative inspection of border area violations.

The suspects were hiding many types of bank cards, phones, SIM cards and over 36 million VND on their bodies.

At the police investigation agency headquarters, the three suspects confessed to being Li Dan Yang (29 years old, residing in Kaiping City, Guangdong Province), Wang Tao (27 years old, residing in Silla District, Longyan City, Fujian Province), and Peng Yu He (30 years old, residing in Futian District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province).

According to the source, Yang confessed that a cardholder he met through Wechat gave him about 20 ATM cards and told him to go to Vietnam to withdraw money.

Yang invited 3 friends to illegally enter the country and move to Ha Long city. Here, Yang and a friend named Zheng withdrew money but were discovered, Zheng was arrested by the police.

Yang, Tao and He got on a bus back to Mong Cai but were arrested by the police.

The Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station has decided to temporarily detain, seal evidence and complete the file, handing over the above suspects to the Quang Ninh Provincial Police for further investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.
