On the morning of June 10th, the outdoor temperature in Sa Pa dropped sharply, by more than ten degrees compared to the previous day. The temperature in Sa Pa was 16 degrees Celsius, a sudden and deep chill that surprised many tourists who hadn't brought warm clothing.
The people of Sa Pa shiver from the cold.
In addition, the rain made the weather in Sa Pa turn cold like real winter, causing many tourists to look for warm clothes to protect themselves from the cold. Winter clothing stores experienced a surge in business. Stalls selling grilled food such as eggs, corn, sweet potatoes, etc., were crowded with customers enjoying grilled items in the cold weather.
According to Mr. Luu Minh Hai, Director of the Lao Cai Meteorological and Hydrological Center, the cause was a strong cold front from the north that swept down into Lao Cai during the night and early morning of June 10th, causing widespread rain, showers, and thunderstorms.
This weather pattern will continue for the next few days.
