Saigon rain poured down, fallen tree crushed people seriously injured

Heavy rain lasting for many hours caused many roads to be deeply flooded, some places flooded more than 0.5 meters, causing hundreds of vehicles to stall and have to be pushed through the water.

According to statistics from the Urban Drainage Company, more than a dozen roads such as Nguyen Huu Canh (Binh Thanh), Do Xuan Hop, Le Van Viet (District 9), Quoc Huong (District 2), Nguyen Van Qua (District 12), Huynh Tan Phat (District 7), Pham Van Chieu, Cay Tram (Go Vap), Ho Hoc Lam (Binh Tan)... are heavily flooded.

Huynh Tan Phat Street is under construction, many areas under construction have created water holes up to 0.8 m deep. Only cars dare to enter, all motorbikes must be pushed on foot.
Struggling to push her flooded motorbike almost to the saddle, Ms. Le Thi Binh (living in District 7) was soaked and gasping for breath: "I thought the storm would not affect Saigon, but I didn't expect it to rain so heavily. I had to go out for urgent matters, and almost fell several times, so I didn't dare to ride anymore."

Near Ong Lon bridge on Nguyen Van Linh street (in Binh Hung commune, Binh Chanh district), a tree nearly one meter in diameter was uprooted in the wind and rain, crushing a man riding a motorbike. The victim was unconscious at the scene and was taken to the hospital by authorities; the motorbike was severely damaged.
