Mistakes of new graduates
(Baonghean) -My neighbor has a daughter who has been studying abroad for about half a year now. According to her mother, she graduated from the economics department of a fairly prestigious university. But since she returned to Vietnam, from my observations, her main job is to walk the dog twice a day, and stay home to receive mail and bills for her parents.
Once I asked the mother why her daughter didn't go to work and she replied with a shake of her head: "My husband and I also encouraged her to go to work, but she said she hasn't found any job that she likes and meets her standards.
He said: Studying abroad like me, I cannot become a normal employee, at least I should be a deputy manager or department head. The monthly salary should be from 10 to 15 million VND or more. Doing trivial things is not only a waste of time but also stunts my ability.
But you see, nowadays it is difficult to find a job, a fresh graduate who can get a stable job with a salary of about 5-7 million is good. Without any experience, who will let him be a department head or deputy head? My husband and I tried to persuade him but to no avail, so we decided to leave him alone for a while longer, maybe he will get bored and have to go to work...

I silently shrugged my shoulders and said nothing, because the day before I had just interviewed a series of candidates for the company, and had encountered many cases like the neighbor's daughter. My colleague who was also interviewing had to exclaim during the break: "Life is so strange, people with work experience and proven abilities do not mention the issue of salary but only care about the standards and job requirements of the company.
As for those fresh graduates, with degrees in hand, they think they are in heaven. They already have demands: I want this salary, I want my working environment to be like that. Recruiting them will only waste time training them again, and we will have to put them on the altar to pray to our ancestors. Please go somewhere else!”
In reality, there is a contradiction that graduates cannot find jobs, but there are also many jobs that cannot be filled. The reason is because the desires and requirements of employers and employees have not found a common voice.
From my observation, the balance is tilted towards the demands of the workers. Many juniors have asked me: "How can I find a job with an income of thousands of dollars a month after graduating?". I replied: "Before thinking about income, you should think about how to get a job and how to meet the requirements of the job, then think about income."
Everyone loves a good job, a dynamic and professional working environment, and a high income. But have you ever wondered if you have enough knowledge and skills to meet the job requirements?
How many students, after holding their diploma in hand, think about taking exams to get a foreign language certificate, learn another programming language, equip themselves with skills to use design software, etc. or are they still busy calculating how much their first salary should be?
How many of you, after being recruited, can immediately meet the company's requirements, or do you need to spend some time retraining? How many of you feel that the salary you receive is too much compared to your productivity?

Many employers are reluctant to work with new graduates. Lack of experience is one of the reasons, but it is certainly not the deciding reason. The main reason lies in their attitude, responsibility, and ability to perceive and self-reflect. The most successful people in the world can completely start their careers from very small things. Or to be more precise, there is no small job, only workers with narrow minds and thinking.
