Vietnamese football has just left a bad impression on the international arena when striker Hoang Vu Samson of Hanoi FC headbutted a player of Ceres Negros (Philippines) and punched another player in the face during Hanoi's 2-6 loss in the 5th match of Group G of the AFC Cup 2017 away on the evening of April 19.

In the 62nd minute of the above match, after his teammate's free kick was caught by the Ceres Negros goalkeeper, for some unknown reason Samson turned around, got angry and headbutted the home team's Super defender.

After that, some Ceres Negros players surrounded Samson to talk about it, then the Hanoi FC striker ran after him and punched defender Kawase hard in the face, forcing him to lie on the ground.

Immediately, teammates at Hanoi Club quickly ran to stop and suppress Samson's anger, then the conflict ended. With the above violent behavior, this striker received a red card and had to leave the field, causing Hanoi to play with only 10 men and accept a final defeat of 2-6.

However, things do not stop there, Samson may receive a heavy penalty from the disciplinary board of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). This is not the first time Samson has committed such violent acts on the field.

Remember in V-League 2014, Samson dropped the ball to attack a Hai Phong player, causing him to be suspended for 4 matches. Recently, Samson had a rather rough tackle on Ngoc Quang (Hoang Anh Gia Lai) in round 3 of V-League 2017, but the VFF disciplinary committee concluded that there was "no violent behavior".
