Nghe An woman gives birth to rare triplets, each baby weighs more than 2kg
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital has just received and successfully performed surgery, saving the life of a pregnant woman carrying rare triplets and welcoming the birth of three baby girls.
At around 10 p.m. on December 1, the Obstetrics Department of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital admitted pregnant woman Cao Thi Th (24 years old, residing in Yen Thanh district, Nghe An) in the 35th week of pregnancy, with abdominal pain and labor.

After examination, the doctors quickly decided to perform surgery on the pregnant woman, seeing that her health was showing signs of deterioration. After 40 minutes, the surgery by a team of 3 doctors and 2 midwives helped Ms. Th to successfully give birth.
Two baby girls weighing 2.2 kg and one baby girl weighing 2 kg were born in stable health, rosy skin, crying loudly, breathing naturally without support, and good sucking reflex.

The family of the pregnant woman Th said that this was her second pregnancy and she was expected to give birth at the end of December. However, at noon that day, Th had abdominal pain and showed signs of premature labor, so her family took her to the hospital.
Currently, the health of the mother Th and the three girls is stable and they are expected to be discharged in the next few days.
According to MSc. Dr. Tran Thi Ngoc Ha - Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, multiple pregnancies always have high risks. The mother is susceptible to high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, increased risk of complications due to wide placenta adhesion causing uterine atony, hemorrhage... Multiple pregnancies also often lead to premature birth, the risks for premature babies are asphyxia after birth, hypothermia, respiratory failure, hypoglycemia, neonatal jaundice, infection, retinopathy, slow physical and intellectual growth.
