A mother in Nghe An gave birth to a 4.1 kg baby boy in the middle of a forest road.

On the afternoon of February 7, Mr. Xong Ba Mai (25 years old, Huoi Moi village, Tri Le commune, Que Phong) said that the health of his wife and son was stable after giving birth in the middle of the forest. This is the first son of Mr. Mai and his wife.

According to Mai, his wife - Vu Y Cu (17 years old), has been pregnant for more than 9 months, expected to give birth on February 8. However, yesterday (February 6), Ms. Cu still went to visit the field. "After visiting the field, in the evening she started to have severe stomach pain. For a long time, women here still give birth at home, not taking them to the hospital. But the fetus in her belly is too big, struggling from last night until noon today but still cannot give birth", Mr. Mai said.

At noon on February 7, Mai decided to ask more than 10 young men in Huoi Moi village to use a hammock to carry his wife to the commune health station, nearly 20km away, to give birth. However, when she was about 15km from the station, Cu began to go into labor. At this time, a man accompanied her to help deliver the baby. After only about 20 minutes, the delivery in the middle of the forest was successful. Immediately after that, the mother and newborn baby were taken home, not to the commune health station again.

"The boy weighs 4.1 kg," Mr. Xong Ba Mai added.

Huoi Moi is one of the most remote villages of Tri Le commune, located on the border with Laos. This village is 100% inhabited by Mong people, and their economic life is still difficult. From Huoi Moi to the center of Tri Le commune, one has to travel nearly 20 km. During the rainy season, the roads are very difficult to travel.
