The conference assessed that in the first six months of 2014, agencies and units throughout the army made significant efforts and strictly implemented the training orders and directives of the Chief of the General Staff. They actively and proactively carried out the organization and preparation for training. The practical training of the various branches of the armed forces, academies, and schools; of all target groups (main force, militia, reserve forces, national defense and security education, etc.); and all training content (military, political, logistics, technical) were ensured.
Notably, the Navy and the Coast Guard Command have successfully completed their training, combat readiness, and peaceful struggle missions at sea, contributing to the firm protection of the nation's maritime sovereignty and islands. Military Region 2 has done well in training for parades and marches during the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory; Military Region 5 has done well in building a system of shooting ranges, training grounds, and combat training areas; Military Region 9 has successfully organized training and combat exercises including live-fire drills at sea… The conference also pointed out existing shortcomings and limitations such as safety incidents during training (Air Defense - Air Force…), and a number of officers and soldiers still violating military discipline and traffic safety regulations…
Based on these strengths and weaknesses, the Conference clearly defined the direction for implementing training tasks in the last six months of 2014. Particular emphasis was placed on completing the 2014 training content and program; ensuring safety in training and traffic safety; paying attention to combining training and combat readiness with the use of forces and equipment for flood and storm prevention and search and rescue missions in the upcoming rainy season; and organizing the high-intensity emulation movement "Shining brightly with the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers" to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2014)...
