Plastic sheet manufacturing - A new investment direction.

Previously, most plastic sheet products used for ceilings, walls, cabinets, and doors in Nghe An province were manufactured by businesses from other provinces and imported into the market. Meanwhile, the province's white limestone powder was transported to other provinces to be used as raw material for plastic sheet production. Recognizing this inadequacy, the Northern Construction Industry and Development Joint Stock Company (Vinh City) boldly invested in a high-quality plastic sheet manufacturing plant. With the support of relevant authorities and sectors, especially the Department of Industry and Trade, this model has initially achieved stable production and produced many high-quality plastic sheet products, promptly meeting the needs of rural areas.

Mr. Nguyen Van Truong, a mechanic in Dien Hanh commune, Dien Chau district, said: "Plastic sheets are very suitable for many families in rural areas, so people often buy them to install ceilings or wall cladding, which are both beautiful and provide good heat insulation." Investing in a plastic sheet manufacturing plant is appropriate because the main raw material is ultra-fine stone powder from Nghe An, and through production technology, it will create plastic sheets in many types, colors, and designs. However, plastic sheet products supplied by companies from other provinces have been on the market for a long time, so investing in a factory in Nghe An will face many difficulties. With the timely support of relevant levels and sectors, especially the Department of Industry and Trade, the high-end plastic sheet manufacturing plant of the Northern Construction Industry and Development Joint Stock Company has completed its investment and is integrated with a high-end plastic sheet production demonstration model in Nghe An. It is known that the factory has a total investment of over 19 billion VND, including the construction of workshops, installation of equipment, and production lines for plastic sheets… and in 2013, the Ministry of Industry and Trade supported the enterprise with 240 million VND to invest in a complete set of window frame extrusion machines and window frame molds with a total investment of over 3.8 billion VND, thereby increasing the factory's capacity to 2,500 tons of products per year. This investment has contributed to product diversification, increased revenue, and created more jobs for workers.

The production line for plastic sheets and plastic door frames started operating in August 2013, and since then, the factory has produced many types of high-quality plastic sheets and door frames. After a short time entering the construction materials market, it has been highly appreciated by customers. Mr. Truong Cong Dinh – Deputy Director in charge of technical affairs of the factory, said: “With the investment in synchronized equipment, we have produced many high-quality products. In the first four months of 2014, the factory produced nearly 800 tons of products, and in the future, when we have developed new markets in rural areas of neighboring provinces, we will boost production to utilize the full capacity of the factory.” Currently, the factory provides jobs for more than 100 workers with an average income of over 3.5 million VND/month.

The ultra-fine white limestone powder from Nghe An is one of the important raw materials used in the processing and production of building materials. The use of this material in the local production of high-quality plastic panels confirms the suitability of this investment direction. From the widely used plastic panels and doors in civil construction projects, this building material will gradually replace traditional wood materials in the future. Low investment capital, use of local raw materials, creation of local labor, and products favored by the rural market… these are the advantages of investing in a plastic panel manufacturing plant in Nghe An.
