Dr. Vu Hong Tuan - Department of Pediatric and Neonatal Surgery said that the department has received many cases of children hospitalized due to dog bites, but bites to the penis are quite rare.
3 years ago there was a case of a baby beingdog bitePenile amputation, there was also a case where the brother accidentally cut off his younger brother's penis while playing with a knife. Doctors recommend that when a child has a penile injury, they should take the child to a reputable medical facility early for timely emergency treatment.
Every year, many children are bitten by dogs and have to be hospitalized for emergency surgery. Usually, adults are bitten by dogs on the arms and legs, while children are often attacked by dogs on the head and face because parents do not pay attention when the children are at home.
Therefore, parents with small children should limit their dog ownership. If they do, they must vaccinate dogs, keep them chained away from children, muzzle them, and remind children to avoid playing with them when the dog is eating or sleeping.
