Screening and eliminating "eels and loaches" in the system
Public opinion agrees with the Party's determination to fight corruption, including the need to quickly eliminate a group of officials who are likened to "eels and loach" who have infiltrated the apparatus.
Last week, public opinion nationwide was extremely interested and expressed high consensus with the Party's determination in the fight against corruption and negativity. Not only fighting against bad things and evils; fighting against the indifferent, cold, and distant attitudes of corrupt and degenerate officials, but also screening and early eliminating a group of officials who are likened to "eels and loach" climbing high and penetrating deep into the apparatus.

During the past week, the People's Court of Phu Tho province opened a first-instance trial, publicly trying two former police officers who were accused of "protecting" and assisting gambling criminals.
Seeing two former high-ranking police officers, once praised for their many achievements in solving crimes, now standing before the court - their comrades, teammates and the people cannot help but feel heartbroken.
It is painful because the degeneration of power has happened to the leaders of the forces that the Party, the State, and the Ministry of Public Security trusted and assigned the task of preventing crime; those who were once trusted, protected, and shared by the people, have now suddenly "lost heart", protecting criminals to do things that are immoral and illegal.
It is painful because they used to be the nemesis of all kinds of criminals, once they rushed forward, regardless of their lives to preserve a peaceful life for the people. It is painful because the difficult and dangerous times did not make their courage waver, but the temptation of illegal money like "sugar-coated bullets" brought down the two former police generals. In fact, it was the degeneration of power that they subjectively thought "no one could control".
It is painful, but it must be dealt with seriously to warn those who have "dipped their toes" but have not yet cleaned themselves up and other opportunists. Deal with it seriously to compensate for the losses of thousands, tens of thousands of families that have been destroyed by the gambling epidemic that is becoming more and more sophisticated, spreading like an epidemic in every corner.
Handle it seriously to restore the trust and honor of police officers and soldiers who sacrificed or suffered lifelong injuries in the fight against crime, for the peaceful life of the people.
Also last week, with the "very serious violations" of Mr. Tat Thanh Cang, member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, announced by the Central Inspection Committee, public opinion, cadres, party members and people still want the competent authorities to find out who his "interest group" is?
The case of Mr. Tat Thanh Cang and the recent handling of officials and party members who have committed violations, especially those in office, shows that: A number of young officials at all levels who are planned and have the ability to hold higher leadership positions... are very likely to fall if they are not aware of their responsibility to contribute but only care about cultivating their personal interests and their interest groups.
Reality shows that, when not yet given power, these people often show dynamism, enthusiasm, daring, and closeness to the people, but when in leadership and management positions, many of them begin to show "communist arrogance", alienate friends and comrades, pursue fame, show off their authority, enjoy a luxurious material life, regardless of the provisions of the law and the Party's Charter.
If their power is not tightly controlled and their violations are not discovered and handled, and if they are "uncleanly supported", these people will directly weaken the Party organization from within, and become a "disaster" for the country.
Fighting negativity and corruption "without forbidden zones", regardless of whether the person is in office or retired, regardless of whether he is a young official or a source official - is to quickly eliminate those who have degenerated and become corrupt.
The fight against and handling of interest groups is a step-by-step screening and detection of opportunists and corrupt people who are likened to "eels and loach" in sectors, levels and localities; contributing significantly to building a clean and effective apparatus, bringing trust to the people./.
