According to the US State Department, at 3:20 p.m. this afternoon (US time, early tomorrow morning Vietnam time), Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will meet President Donald Trump at the White House.

President Donald Trump will welcome Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the White House on May 31 (US time).

Information posted on the US State Department website said that this meeting was attended by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Earlier, at 12:00 (US time), Mr. Tillerson will host a working lunch with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the US State Department. After that, the US Secretary of State will meet with President Donald Trump.

According to information from the White House, at the meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, President Donald Trump wished to discuss with the Prime Minister measures to strengthen bilateral relations as well as promote regional cooperation with one of America's important partners in Southeast Asia.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is making an official visit to the United States from May 29-31 at the invitation of President Donald Trump.

This is his first official visit to the US as Prime Minister of Vietnam. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is the first ASEAN leader to meet President Donald Trump at the White House.
