This morning, June 15, more than 2,000 candidates took the 10th grade entrance exam to Vinh University High School for the Gifted.
This year's 10th grade entrance exam to Vinh University has many new features as candidates will have to take a comprehensive exam to get a base score instead of getting scores from the 10th grade entrance exam like previous years.

The entrance exam for grade 10 of Vinh University High School for the Gifted had the participation of 2,179 candidates from Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.
According to Vinh University's synthesis, among the candidates registered for the exam, the Math specialized class had 347 candidates registered for the exam, the Physics specialized class had 188 candidates registered for the exam, the Chemistry specialized class had 231 candidates registered for the exam, the Biology specialized class had 142 candidates registered for the exam, the Information Technology specialized class had 196 candidates registered for the exam, the English specialized class had 658 candidates registered for the exam and the Literature specialized class had 414 candidates registered for the exam.
With this number, the specialized Chemistry and English classes have the highest competition ratio, more than 6:1 candidates; the specialized Literature and Math classes have a competition ratio of more than 5:1.

Previously, according to the plan, this school year, Vinh University High School for the Gifted planned to enroll 385 students into 10 classes of 7 specialized subjects, of which 2 classes will be for Math and Literature, 3 classes for English, and 1 class for each of the remaining specialized subjects. For the IT specialized class, the school will consider recruiting up to 40% of the quota for candidates who register to take the exam with Math.
Regarding the admission method, candidates will take 1 comprehensive exam and 1 specialized exam.
The comprehensive test is in the form of objective multiple choice with a duration of 100 minutes and candidates take the test on a multiple choice answer sheet. The test includes Math and Foreign Language. The Math test has 40 questions, the Foreign Language (English) test has 40 questions; each question is worth 0.25 points, then the comprehensive test score is converted to a 10-point scale.

Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Literature are tested in essay format, on paper. Meanwhile, English is a combination of multiple choice and essay, and Information Technology is tested on a computer.
Before taking the first exam this morning, June 15, yesterday morning, June 14, candidates went to the exam site to check their registration number, exam room, receive exam cards, correct errors, and listen to the exam regulations.
This morning (June 15), from 7:15 a.m., candidates will begin entering the exam room to take the comprehensive exam and from 1:45 p.m., candidates will begin the specialized exam./.
