(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, 9 localities in Nghe An will not organize military handover ceremonies but will hand over directly. The remaining localities will organize short ceremonies, no longer than 25 minutes, and limit the number of delegates and relatives to see them off.
In 2022, Nghe An province was assigned by the Government, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, and Military Region 4 a target of 3,394 citizens joining the army. Of these, 3,150 citizens will join the army (an increase of 50 citizens compared to 2021) and 244 citizens will join the police.
To date, units have finalized 3,550 citizens. Of these, 3,306 citizens have joined the army (officially 3,150 citizens and 156 reserve citizens, reaching a rate of 105%), and 244 citizens have joined the police (reaching a rate of 100%). Among the citizens enlisted in the army, there were 519 people with health category 1, reaching a rate of 15.7%; category 2 had 1,965 citizens, reaching a rate of 59.4%; category 3 had 822 citizens, reaching a rate of 24.9%. Regarding cultural level, there were 163 citizens who graduated from university, college, and intermediate school, reaching a rate of 4.9%; there were 2,171 citizens who graduated from high school and 972 citizens who graduated from junior high school.
This year, among the new recruits, 4 are party members; 758 are ethnic minorities and 207 are Catholic youth. Also according to statistics from the Provincial Military Command, this year, 53 new recruits are children of cadres and employees; 12 are married; 283 are from poor households...
According to Colonel Dinh Bat Van - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command, due to the complicated developments of the epidemic, 9 localities in level 3 and level 4 epidemic areas will not organize military handover ceremonies but will hand over directly. These localities include: Vinh City, Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Hung Nguyen, Thanh Chuong, Thai Hoa Town, Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Ky Son.
For the remaining 12 localities, the handover ceremony will also be organized quickly and safely. “We have directed these localities to review the program to organize the handover ceremony to not exceed 25 minutes. In addition, we must also minimize the number of delegates attending and relatives coming to see them off to ensure epidemic prevention requirements,” said Colonel Dinh Bat Van.

Currently, 100% of new recruits have received the basic Covid-19 vaccine. However, before leaving for military service, new recruits must have a negative test result within 48 hours; those who test positive will be allowed to join the army later. In the areas where the handover ceremony takes place, epidemic prevention measures have been implemented such as stretching ropes to limit distance, arranging body temperature measurement points, etc. The Provincial Military Command has also closely coordinated with medical agencies, hospitals, departments, branches, and localities to drastically implement epidemic prevention and control measures as well as ensure good health for the recruits.citizen conscription.
