(Baonghean.vn) - This morning (February 26), 21 districts, cities and towns in Nghe An province simultaneously held military enlistment ceremonies.
In 2024, Nghe An province was assigned by the Government and the Ministry of National Defense to call more than 3,250 citizens to join the Army, assigned to 13 military units (9 units of the Ministry of National Defense and 4 units of Military Region 4).
Following the direction, Nghe An province has done a good job in selecting and calling citizens to join the army. Accordingly, the province has finalized the number of soldiers and issued a call-up order to join the army with more than 3,400 citizens (officially more than 3,250 citizens, reserve 164 citizens).
Among the citizens enlisted this time, there are 19 party members and 887 citizens who volunteered to join the army; 1,424 young people have attended Party training courses; 192 young people have university, college and intermediate degrees; 810 are ethnic minorities; 205 young people have religion.
According to the assessment of the Provincial Military Command, the quality of military recruitment in 2024 is higher than in 2023 in terms of targets and criteria. Notably, this year, citizens with health class 1 and 2 are 77.4%, 1.2% higher than last year; university, college and intermediate degrees are 0.4% higher than last year. The rate of citizens writing voluntary applications has increased, accounting for 25.7%.
