At the recent press conference of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Director of the Competition Management Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that up to now, the Ministry is still conducting inspections of 7 multi-level marketing enterprises according to the provisions of the law.
According to regulations, there will be a conclusion within 45 days, so it is expected that the final report will be available by mid-June.
Mr. Nam also said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is trying to complete and submit to the Government amendments to Decree No. 42 (2014) on Multi-level Sales Regulations in May.
“The Ministry of Industry and Trade focuses on amending three main areas, strengthening inspection, examination, and propaganda, and focusing on amending legal documents related to the multi-level marketing business sector,” Mr. Nam emphasized.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that the Ministry is actively coordinating with localities and relevant agencies to bring multi-level marketing activities into order; at the same time, reviewing documents, including newly issued documents that do not meet management requirements, and proposing amendments.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade is also proposing that the Government amend Decree 42/2014 regulating multi-level sales management.
It is expected that this May, a draft amendment will be introduced to further tighten this activity.
According to the Deputy Director of the Competition Management Department, the Ministry decided to establish an interdisciplinary inspection team including representatives of the Ministry of Public Security and local Departments of Industry and Trade in early March 2016.
The 7 companies inspected by the team include: Thien Ngoc Minh Uy Company Limited, Unicity Marketing Vietnam Company Limited, Amway Vietnam Company Limited, Lien Ket Vietnam Group Joint Stock Company, Lien Ket Tri Thuc Joint Stock Company, Lien Minh Tieu Chuong Vietnam Joint Stock Company, and Thang Long Franchise Company Limited. |
