According to the account of a survivor of the scaffolding collapse at the Formosa construction site, there were signs of the scaffolding shaking before the horrific accident occurred, but the contractor still forced the workers to continue working.

Regarding the scaffolding collapse at the Formosa construction site, some victims being treated at Ky Anh District General Hospital (Ha Tinh province) said that 35 minutes before the incident, workers had reported signs of shaking on the scaffolding, but representatives of the Samsung contractor, part of the Formosa Project, still forced them to continue working.

Worker Nguyen Van Tai (from Nghe An province), who miraculously escaped death, recounted the incident.

According to Ta Minh Hoang (born in 1986, Ninh Binh province), a lucky survivor of the scaffolding collapse accident, 35 minutes before the scaffolding collapsed, the workers had notified the contractor's representative to allow them to stop working. However, Mr. Ly Den (the site manager) still forced the workers to continue working, claiming that the shaking was not a problem.

Cao Duong Nam (born in 1980, Nghe An province), the manager of the machine operation team, angrily said: "We are all workers here, working hard but only getting paid by the hour."

Mr. Nam explained: "We work by the hour, not by the day. There are two shifts a day, each paying 21,500 dong. Those who work more earn more, those who work less earn less. The 7-8 am shift is the second shift of the day. Wages are calculated by the minute, so both the contractor and the workers make the most of their time. We work intensely, without rest, even when tired, and even if an 'incident' occurs, as long as we finish our shift."

The victims recounted the terrifying moments when the scaffolding collapsed.

"When the massive iron and steel scaffolding collapsed to the ground, all 47 workers present at the site were affected. Those who were lucky escaped death, while the unlucky ones died on the spot or suffered serious injuries. Escaping from the rubble, all they could do was scream, 'Oh my God, we're all dead!'" – shared Mr. Tran Quang Tuan (born 1973, Trieu Son district, Thanh Hoa province), a patient being treated at Ky Anh District General Hospital.

The patients also shared that after being hospitalized, they received care, visits, and support from agencies, organizations, and leaders in Ha Tinh province, as well as from the contractor, Samsung. The contractor itself promised to take responsibility for this incident and to compensate for all losses due to the significant loss of life, ensuring all benefits for the injured and deceased workers.
