Scaffolding collapses at 17-story building: Urgent search underway for trapped people.
As of 1 PM this afternoon, authorities are still urgently searching for victims trapped in the scaffolding collapse in Ho Chi Minh City.
As reported, as of 1 PM today (July 10th), authorities are still urgently searching for victims trapped in the scaffolding collapse at a 17-story building construction site on Nguyen Van Linh Street, Tan Phong Ward, District 7. Two workers have been confirmed dead in this accident.
As of now, of the five workers rescued and taken to the hospital, two have died from their severe injuries. Four other workers found under the collapsed scaffolding are currently receiving treatment at District 7 Hospital, one of whom has already been discharged.

Because there are still people trapped under the rubble, authorities are urgently using excavators and forklifts to move concrete blocks and dig through the debris in search of them.
Mr. Tran Van Lam, a construction worker who witnessed the incident, said: "At around 7:30 this morning (July 10th), as we were preparing to start our shift, several workers climbed onto the scaffolding to prepare for construction when the scaffolding suddenly collapsed, crushing many other workers standing below. At that time, Mr. Lam was standing on top of the scaffolding and managed to cling to the iron frame, so he was lucky to escape death."
