Landslide in Hung Yen South, urgent evacuation of people and property
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the influence of the Northeast monsoon, heavy rain has caused landslides in Hamlet 5, Hung Yen Nam Commune (Hung Nguyen), some houses are at risk of being buried. Currently, Hung Yen Nam is focusing emergency forces to evacuate people and property to a safe place.
Heavy rain from the night of November 7 to November 8 caused thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil on the mountain to slide down, flooding the gardens and houses of households in hamlets 5 and 6A, Hung Yen Nam commune. Although it did not cause any damage to people or property, it caused panic among people living in this area.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vuong, a resident of Hamlet 5, Hung Yen Nam Commune, said: "In the middle of the night, we heard the sound of rocks and soil falling behind our house. My whole family was extremely scared. I had to break down the kitchen to make a way for the mud to flow to save the big house."
Upon receiving the news of the landslide, on the night of November 7, the Hung Yen Nam commune authorities mobilized forces to the scene to inspect and deploy remedial measures. After the inspection, in areas at high risk of landslides, the local authorities mobilized people to urgently evacuate people and property to safety.
Mr. Le Van Tinh, a resident of Hamlet 5, said: "The commune's rescue force went to each house to encourage people, then assigned people to help families evacuate people and property. My family and other households thank the attention of the authorities at all levels for promptly supporting people in times of danger."

It is estimated that the landslide area is over 200 meters long. At the foot of the mountain, there are 30 households with more than 100 people living in hamlets 5 and 6A. Currently, the weather is quite complicated, and the rocks and soil on the mountain continue to slide strongly.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Chairman of Hung Yen Nam Commune People's Committee said: "In the face of the ongoing landslide situation, the rescue team urgently evacuated people and property to a safe place, and at the same time helped people dredge mud and clear the flow to minimize damage to people and property of local households."
In less than a month, people in hamlets 5 and 6A of Hung Yen Nam commune have had to face landslides twice. To ensure the safety of people and property for households living at the foot of the mountain, in the long term, Hung Yen Nam needs to find a solution to relocate people to a safe place.
