On September 19th, the Long An Provincial Police temporarily detained Vo Tuan Anh (22 years old, from Long An province) for investigation into the crime of murder.
He confessed that late on September 13th, he took his wife, Cao Hanh Tien (19 years old), to a rented room in Ben Luc town. The next morning, he discovered a strange message on Tien's phone, which made him jealous. After arguing with her, he strangled her to death.
He continued to hold his wife's body in the hotel room for two days, and only left the hotel on September 16th, hiding in an abandoned shack 2 km from the scene.
Later, the guesthouse owner noticed a foul odor in the room, so they checked and discovered the incident. Following up on the initial registration documents, the police arrested Anh after a day of hiding.
