From 1989 to 1998, Mathematics was the strength of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. However, due to various reasons, Mathematics achievements were interrupted for a period of time. After 18 years, Hoang Anh Tai winning the Silver Medal this time marked the return of Mathematics and once again affirmed the quality of teaching and learning at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

Talking about this achievement, teacher Dau Van Mui said: "This is a great gift, meaningful in encouraging the teaching and learning spirit of the school's teachers and showing that we have made the right investment to continue promoting the strengths of Mathematics in our province."

Hoang Anh Tai is a poor student, from Yen Son commune, Do Luong district. Previously, 30 years ago, also in this rural area, student Tran Tuan Hiep had also excellently won a Silver Medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad.

It is expected that by the morning of July 16, student Hoang Anh Tai and teacher Dau Hoang Hung - who directly taught and trained him - will return to Nghe An. Three days ago, student Nguyen Ngoc Khanh, class 12A3 of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, also won a Silver Medal at the International Physics Olympiad.
