Tan Thinh Bridge crosses Dau Canal, located on the route connecting Provincial Road 537 to National Highway 48B in An Hoa Commune, mainly serving the travel and production needs of people in the area.
The bridge was built and put into operation in 1992. The southern bank of the bridge is a dike combined with a residential road with a 3-4m wide roadbed connecting Tan Thinh hamlet, An Hoa commune and the storm shelter anchorage area of Lach Quen port. The northern bank of the bridge is connected to provincial road 537B and the headquarters of An Hoa commune People's Committee. The width of the canal at the bridge location, calculated from both sides of the dike, is about 60m, this section of the canal has small boats passing through.

The current state of the road at both ends of the bridge is dirt road, the ramp leading up to the bridge has a steep slope, the roadbed is about 4m wide. The reinforced concrete bridge railing has been damaged. There is no traffic safety warning system at both ends of the bridge such as markers, load signs, etc.
Mr. Vuong Dinh Nhuan - Director of the Department of Public Capital Project Management (Department of Transport) said: Currently, the bridge has been damaged and degraded, causing unsafety for the construction as well as vehicles passing by. The entire main steel load-bearing bridge girder has been completely rusted, especially the two ends of the girder are severely corroded. The reinforced concrete bridge deck is peeling. The expansion joints are completely damaged. The reinforced concrete bridge railing system has broken two compartments. The dirt road at both ends of the bridge has a steep slope, causing danger to vehicles when going up the bridge.

To serve the travel needs of the people, ensuring the safety of people and vehicles crossing the bridge, the Department of Transport has coordinated with the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district and An Hoa commune to conduct a field inspection, make a plan to invest in a bridge with a length of 55m, a bridge width of 6.5m, the road at both ends of the bridge is a level VI plain road with a roadbed width of 6.5m, a road surface width of 3.5m, the length of the road at both ends of the bridge on each side is about 150m.
According to the estimate, the total cost to build the bridge is 15 billion VND./.
