After his biological mother was arrested by the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police while carrying drugs into Hue for sale, Ho Ngoc Quy continued to connect with drug suppliers in Laos - from his mother's "source" of supply - to find sources to buy drugs to sell for profit. His biological mother had just been arrested, so Quy was very vigilant and carried a firearm for self-defense, ready to fight back against the police force to escape when discovered.

On the other hand, the subjects in this ring operate with sophisticated tricks, frequently changing their routes, taking advantage of mountainous terrain and difficult traffic. When detecting any movement, the subjects immediately hide in the mountains and forests. In particular, these subjects also frequently change the "person" transporting the goods, causing many difficulties for the Quy Hop Police force to fight. Faced with that situation, the leaders of Quy Hop District Police have directed the establishment of Project 120G to resolutely fight and eradicate this criminal ring.

After implementing professional measures to fight, the detectives secretly monitored all movements of the subject. The task force determined that it was not possible to arrest the subject while he was traveling by car, as it would be dangerous, so they divided into 3 attack groups: one group intercepted the way to Quy Chau, one group intercepted the way to Thai Hoa, and the third group followed the subject.

At 2:30 a.m. on December 15, the Task Force discovered the subject appearing in the area of ​​​​Song Thai Karaoke Bar, in Tam Hop Commune (Quy Hop). When Quy was preparing to get in the car and move to the location to trade drugs, the detectives quickly approached, approached and controlled, knocked down the subject, caught Ho Ngoc Quy red-handed for the act of "Illegal trading of drugs". The seized evidence included 2 cakes of heroin, 1 car, 1 knife and some other related evidence.

Upon being arrested, the subject appeared calm and stubborn, refusing to admit that he was carrying drugs. However, with the documents and evidence presented by the detectives, Ho Ngoc Quy had to bow his head and confess his crime.
