During the matchflash floods, landslidesThe flood, which occurred in the villages of Son Ha, Hoa Son, Binh Son 1, and Binh Son 2 in Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district, in the early morning of October 2nd, not only caused heavy damage to people's property but also destroyed many water supply and irrigation facilities, bridges, culverts, and rice fields. The most pressing issue was that after the flood subsided, people lacked access to clean water and had to filter stream water for cooking.

Mr. Luong Van Tu from Hoa Son village expressed his concern, stating that the villagers have been using the same resource for a long time.domestic waterThe water flowed naturally from the forest all the way to the family's home, so there was never a shortage. But this flood destroyed all the water tanks and pipes.

"Drinking water and food have been provided with assistance from philanthropists, but daily household water is still unavailable. The only immediate solution is to dig a small hole next to the Huồi Giảng stream to let the water settle and carry it back in buckets for use," said Mr. Lương Văn Tư.

According to Vi Van Truyen, the head of Hoa Son village, after the flood, the entire water supply system in the village was severely damaged and beyond repair due to the thick layer of soil and rocks that buried it. To obtain water for daily use, the villagers are currently using hoes and shovels to dig a small hole next to the Huoi Giang stream bed so that the water can rise, settle, and then they scoop it up in buckets for cooking.

"The village has two natural water sources flowing along the stream, but they are unusable, and the two water storage tanks are also buried and damaged. In addition, the village has lost about 2 hectares of rice fields due to being buried under rocks and soil. We hope to receive investment to rebuild the water supply system for the villagers to use in the long term," shared Mr. Vi Van Truyen.

In Son Ha village, the water supply infrastructure was completely destroyed. Mr. Mua Ba Vu, the village head of Son Ha, said: "The entire village has one gravity-fed water supply system with six water tanks, providing water to almost all households. Currently, families whose houses and property were not damaged still have a small amount of water in their tanks for temporary use, but because the tanks are small, they will only last for a few days."

Currently, most people have to use water from streams or springs flowing down from the mountains, but on rainy days the stream water becomes murky and unsanitary.
