(Baonghean.vn) - Dead fish, foul smell, garbage everywhere... is the alarming situation of the regulating lake at the end of Bac canal, Vinh city.

According to the reporter, on the afternoon of July 23, workers collected dead fish from the lake bed. After collecting, the fish were buried and sprinkled with lime powder to ensure the environment. By the end of the same afternoon, the surface of the lake was basically free of dead fish.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc - Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Vinh City said: The fish died in the regulating lake because of the prolonged hot weather, the fish's living environment was changed, and the water source in the regulating lake was polluted because some people littered the lake. Immediately after Nghe An Newspaper reported, we directed timely handling."

There are two main reasons for the problem of waste around the lake. Firstly, some households secretly sell food and drinks in the lake area, then do not collect the waste to process according to regulations. In addition, many people also gather around the lake to eat, drink, and have fun, and litter indiscriminately.

Therefore, Vinh City will direct the authorities of Hung Loc and Hung Hoa communes to coordinate with Vinh Urban Infrastructure Management and Development Joint Stock Company to establish patrol teams. The task of this force is to inspect the lake area daily, strictly handle trading activities around the lake, and remind people who litter. At the same time, promptly handle any fish deaths in the near future to ensure a green environment at the city's largest lake.
