Close to the grassroots, fostering great national unity
(Baonghean.vn) - The Fatherland Front Committees at all levels of Nghia Dan district actively mobilized people to participate in patriotic emulation campaigns and movements. These activities contributed to promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, clearly demonstrating the role of a strong "bridge" between the Party, the Government and the People.
Support for poor households
Due to difficult circumstances, in 2021, Mr. Lo Van Loi's family, a Thai ethnic in Ap My hamlet, Nghia Loc commune, received support from the Commune Fatherland Front Committee for breeding cows from the livelihood support program for people of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee. After more than 2 years of care, his family's cow has grown and given birth to a calf.
The family of parishioner Nguyen Van Hien in Con Co hamlet, Nghia Loc commune is a near-poor household with 4 school-age children. Previously, the couple only knew how to work seasonal jobs to earn extra income. Since receiving support from the Fatherland Front Committee to develop breeding cows, the family has taken good care of them, developed the herd of calves and raised poultry. To ensure enough food for the cows, the family takes advantage of the vacant land around the house to grow grass for livestock.
"Given breeding cows and additional support in knowledge and experience in raising cattle, the family is trying to raise cattle well to generate income, improve their lives, and provide for their children's education. In the near future, the family will transfer the breeding cows to households in more difficult circumstances so that they can raise cattle together and escape poverty," Mr. Hien said excitedly.
Supporting livelihoods with seeds and animals, providing guidance on farming and livestock raising techniques to help poor households have jobs and additional sources of income is a sustainable poverty reduction method implemented by the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Loc commune, initially bringing positive results. Thereby, motivating, accompanying, sharing and helping the poor to escape poverty.
During the past term, the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Loc commune has taken the lead in supporting 49 poor households with breeding animals and building houses, helping 32 households escape poverty sustainably. From that support, poor households have more motivation to improve their lives. In addition, the Fatherland Front of the commune has built 8 models of the Front at the commune level, over 70 models of Front working committees in building new rural areas effectively.
Along with effectively implementing livelihood support models for people, the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Nghia Dan district effectively implemented the program to support housing construction for poor households.
In the process of implementing Directive 21 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in mobilizing and supporting the construction and repair of houses for the poor and people with housing difficulties", Nghia Dan district has mobilized the entire political system to participate, established a steering committee, and assigned specific tasks to members, agencies, departments and branches.
The Fatherland Front coordinates with political organizations to propagate the significance of the campaign, thereby creating consensus, promptly mobilizing support resources and allocating and disbursing funds to ensure publicity and transparency.
Over the past 5 years, the Fatherland Front of Nghia Dan district has mobilized and received more than 11 billion VND for the "For the Poor" Fund. Of which, it has supported the renovation and repair of 313 houses, supported the livelihoods of 195 poor and near-poor households to invest in livestock and production to develop the economy; supported 674 poor students to overcome difficulties, 143 poor people to receive medical treatment, 252 disadvantaged households... contributing to sustainable poverty reduction in the locality.
Strengthening the great solidarity bloc
The Fatherland Front at all levels in Nghia Dan constantly innovates the content and form of activities, focusing on the grassroots and residential areas, contributing to promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc.
During that process, the Fatherland Front at all levels closely coordinated with member organizations to effectively carry out propaganda, mobilization and rally people of all walks of life to actively and effectively participate in patriotic emulation campaigns and movements, associated with the implementation of local political tasks.
Implementing the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", over the past 5 years, the people of Nghia Dan district have contributed hundreds of billions of VND, tens of thousands of working days, donated thousands of square meters of land, relocated trees, removed fences and other works to build new rural infrastructure. Up to now, the whole district has 22/22 communes (100% of communes) meeting new rural standards; Nghia Binh commune has met advanced new rural standards and is implementing the construction of Nghia Dan town unit to meet civilized urban criteria.
The active participation of the Fatherland Front at all levels in Nghia Dan district and its member organizations in recent years has contributed to promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc. Notably, the people have united in the work of disease prevention and control; donated over 10 billion VND to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic; mobilized and supported 2,271 million VND worth of people in the Central region affected by storms and floods (in 2020).
Support the people of Ky Son district who suffered from flash floods in 2022 with goods and necessities worth 319 million VND; mobilize, receive and support poor households, households in difficulty, and policy families during the traditional Tet holiday with 24,591 Tet gifts, with money and necessities worth nearly 14 billion VND.
The Fatherland Front of Nghia Dan district has well performed its role and function of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people through the following activities: Election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels; regularly grasping the people's situation, receiving opinions and recommendations from union members, association members and people through voter contact conferences.
At the same time, the Fatherland Front at all levels participates in receiving citizens, receiving and handling complaints and denunciations; and monitoring social criticism. Mediation teams at the grassroots level are regularly improved, promoting their roles, contributing to social stability and economic development.
The above results demonstrate the efforts of the Fatherland Front and its member organizations at all levels in Nghia Dan district during the 2019-2024 term. Promoting the achieved results, the Fatherland Front of Nghia Dan district continues to strengthen the core political role and responsibility of the Fatherland Front in building the great national unity bloc, creating social consensus, arousing the tradition of patriotism, national pride, and consolidating the people's trust in the Party and the government.
In preparation for the Nghia Dan District Fatherland Front Congress, term 2024-2029, the District Fatherland Front Committee is reviewing programs and plans, adding specific solutions to improve the effectiveness of the Fatherland Front organizations at all levels. The consistent goal of the District Fatherland Front Committee is to continue to be more closely connected with the grassroots, promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people, build a strong national solidarity bloc, and contribute to promoting socio-economic development in the area.
