(Baonghean.vn)- On October 19, Middle Eastern media reported that, realizing that the actions of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman are costing too much, affecting the reputation of this kingdom, the Saudi Arabian royal family is looking to replace this young Crown Prince with his less ambitious younger brother, Prince Khalid.

A diplomatic source in Paris said that the Saudi Allegiance Council, the body responsible for handling the country's succession issues, had secretly met to discuss the disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Mr. Khashoggi is believed to have been murdered at the Saudi Arabian Consulate in Istanbul (Türkiye) on the orders of Crown Prince bin Salman.
The Saudi Allegiance Council has the power to vote on the crown prince's replacement. The Allegiance Council, which is made up of 34 members representing branches of the Saudi royal family, acts as an advisory body to King Salman in choosing his successor.
The council is said to be moving to elect Prince Khalid bin Salman as Deputy Crown Prince.
A Saudi Arabian source said that if Khalid becomes deputy crown prince, it would mean that Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman would have to step down from his current position in the next few years. This would help ensure the maintenance of power for the royal family of King Salman.
According to this source, Khalid will gradually take power and replace his brother.
Meanwhile, regarding the fate of Mr. Khashoggi, according to reports from Turkish and American intelligence, this journalist was tortured and murdered before his dismembered body was transferred to Riyadh./.
