Artist's slip of the tongue scandal: Frankness or behavioral error?
(Baonghean) - Recently, singer Thanh Lam made a shocking statement when she said that "many singers in the South are famous without education". The frank and somewhat "offensive" comments of the Vietnamese music diva immediately received a lot of backlash from artists in the South.
Singer Dam Vinh Hung said: “Singer Thanh Lam is having arrogant thoughts. I also don’t know what Ms. Lam wants when giving her opinion about the popularity of Southern singers like that. Such comments should not come from a “superior” person like Ms. Lam.” Immediately after that, many other singers and musicians also posted criticisms of Thanh Lam.
Facing those fierce reactions, Thanh Lam remained calm: "I accept compliments and criticisms like accepting the rain and sunshine of life" and thought that if I didn't speak, someone else would, it was just that their way of communicating was sweeter.

This is not the first time Thanh Lam has made a mistake because she thought that "the purpose is only for a better music industry, for the audience to have more entertainment, and to enrich their souls". Because before that, she also had many statements that were considered "arrogant" and "sitting in the upper class" when she bluntly criticized Dam Vinh Hung and Ha Ho: "I can't imagine what Ho Ngoc Ha and Dam Vinh Hung will teach?". Or criticized My Tam "has talent that is very suitable for the public, but not to really make a breakthrough"; "Uyen Linh sings just averagely and I don't like her very much"; "Thu Minh would be better if she was soft. She is too stressed by commercialism".
Thanh Lam’s criticism that she spoke for the country’s art industry has met with a lot of praise and criticism from the public. There is little praise but a lot of criticism. Many people question whether she is a straightforward person or has a problem with her behavior.
Not only Thanh Lam, in the sowbiz world, many singers have also made comments about others or reacted to a phenomenon that shocked fans. Typically, singer Dam Vinh Hung received criticism when he criticized musician Nguyen Anh 9, calling him a "hypocrite" and declaring that he would not sing the musician's music because he "accidentally did not appreciate him". After this incident, he received a lot of criticism from famous musicians such as Duong Thu, Le Quang...
Or singer Tuan Hung, after participating in the live show “Favorite Song” of VTV 3, expressed his anger and cursed on his personal page because in the invitation, his image and name were placed after other young singers such as Isaac, Tan Nhan,… This incident made many famous people in the Northern entertainment industry unhappy. In particular, My Linh commented very directly on Tuan Hung’s curse and said that he should not be so “uncultured”.
If you pay attention, you will see that there are many singers who are quite charming on stage, but in a moment they lose control of their language and say tactless words that upset and even embarrass the person they are talking to.
A typical example is My Tam, the singer with the largest fan base today. During a performance in Da Nang, when MC Diem Quynh asked her "What does My Tam wish for now?", My Tam calmly replied: "I just want you to come in and let me sing." Her slip of the tongue made MC Diem Quynh blush at that time and My Tam had to endure a lot of criticism afterwards for her "tactlessness".
Musician Phu Quang once said: “Artists are first and foremost human beings, and humans are prone to making mistakes. Artists are often noticed and followed by many people, so they should control their emotions and ego to the maximum extent to avoid making mistakes, especially in judging others. Everyone has the right to say they like or dislike this or that, but they should not say that this or that girl or that guy is stupid, or that this or that person is uncultured, because this is what makes artists lose themselves without knowing it. And by the time they realize it, it is too late.”
