There will be two new television channels.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has just approved the establishment of the National Assembly Television Channel and the Vietnam National Defense Television Channel.
According to Document No. 1349/VPCP-KGVX, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has agreed with the proposal of the National Assembly Office regarding the establishment of a National Assembly Television Channel. The National Assembly Office will study and incorporate the opinions of relevant ministries and agencies, finalize and approve the National Assembly Television Channel establishment plan within its authority.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan also agreed with the Ministry of National Defense's proposal to establish the Vietnam National Defense Television Channel. The Ministry of National Defense is responsible for implementing the construction and operation of the National Defense Television Channel effectively, ensuring that it meets its objectives and orientations, serving the purpose of disseminating information about military and national defense tasks, and the building and protection of the Fatherland.
The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Information and Communications to consider granting operating licenses for the National Assembly Television Channel and the National Defense Television Channel in accordance with the law.
