There will be no more computers sold with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 pre-installed.

According to PCWorld, Microsoft has just announced that it will stop selling Windows 7 Professional licenses and all versions of Windows 8.1 to OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). This means that from this November, Windows 10 will be the best choice for manufacturers on new computers.
The sale of Windows 7 Professional was supposed to end on October 31, 2014, two years after Windows 8 was released. However, earlier this year, Microsoft reopened Windows 7 Professional licenses to manufacturers and stopped selling them to consumers. However, Microsoft also warned manufacturers that it would stop selling Windows 7 licenses in a year.
Microsoft says that licensed organizations and businesses can still buy Windows 10 computers and downgrade to Windows 7 if they want. And new Windows 7 computers won't disappear immediately, as manufacturers can still use their active licenses. Dell, for example, currently sells 17 different types of laptops running Windows 7 Professional.

Despite many efforts to attract users to Windows 10, Windows 7 is still the most popular operating system in the world today. According to the latest statistics, about 48% of computers in the US are still running Windows 7, which is more than double the number of Windows 10. Although it has stopped selling, Microsoft will continue to support Windows 7 users until January 2020.
