Chieng Ngam Temple will be upgraded and expanded with a budget of nearly 2 billion.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 8, the People's Committee of Quy Chau district(Nghe An)organize the workshop "Discussing upgrading and expanding Chieng Ngam Temple".

Attending the workshop were comrades in the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Standing Committee, representatives of departments; former District Party Committee Secretaries, village elders, village chiefs, and shamans in Muong Chieng Ngam.

Overview of the workshop

Muong Chieng Ngam Thanh Hoang Temple, located in Chau Tien commune, Quy Chau, is the place to worship three men Xieu Bo, Xieu Ke, and Xieu Luong who had the merit of establishing the village and building the Muong.

The Chieng Ngam Temple Festival is the main part of the Hang Bua Festival, held on January 20, 21, and 22 every year to pray for favorable weather and bountiful harvests. The festival also aims to promote the tradition of "remembering the source of water", preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the ethnic groups in the Northwest of Nghe An, and at the same time educating children to remember their roots.

At the Workshop, based on the design documents for the restoration and embellishment of Chieng Ngam Temple with specific items, including the road leading to the temple, upgrading and expanding the temple area, temple yard, materials used for upgrading... with an estimated budget of nearly 2 billion VND.

The delegates were unanimous and highly agreed, however, many comments suggested that, based on limited budget, the investor should consider and ensure that it is enough to cover the items as designed. Accordingly, the upgrading and expansion must be based on the original foundation, and must not change the inherent historical value of the temple...
