'Will have to live with SARS-CoV-2 virus for a long time'
That is the WHO's recommendation for countries around the world on April 22. According to this organization, countries should not let their guard down because the fight against Covid-19 is still very difficult.
The above warning was given by Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreysus, at the WHO's daily press conference in Geneva, Switzerland on the afternoon of April 22.

According to the head of the World Health Organization, although the Covid-19 epidemic in Western European countries has been showing signs of stabilizing over the past few days, the rate of spread of the epidemic in many other regions of the world is very worrying.
“Although the number of cases remains low, we are seeing a worrying upward trend in Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Most of these countries are still in the early stages of the pandemic, while some that were affected early are now seeing a resurgence in cases.
Make no mistake, we still have a long way to go. This virus will be with us for a long time,” Tedros Adhanom Ghebreysus stressed.
Also at the press conference, the WHO Director-General reiterated recent difficulties in relations with the US government and said he hopes the US will soon resume financial support for the WHO because that is also beneficial to the safety of the US itself.
For WHO's immediate critical tasks, Mike Ryan, Executive Director and Head of WHO's Emergencies Program, said that a clear investigation into the animal origin of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is of utmost urgency, as it is necessary to understand how the virus crossed the species barrier to infect humans.
