Authorities under the Ministry of Information and Communications have recently sent a document to local departments requesting them to inspect and handle violations by electronic news sites and websites for serious breaches of information regulations.

Specifically, the Department of Broadcasting, Television and Electronic Information has requested the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications to take strict action against the online news portal 2sao.vn of VietNamNet Media Joint Stock Company for publishing the article "First the devil, second the ghost, third the student" with offensive comments, manipulated images, etc.

This unit also sent a document requesting the Departments of Information and Communications of Khanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City to coordinate with relevant authorities to inspect and strictly handle two websites that publish numerous comics and online films with obscene content.

Notably, both websites that were shut down (www.manga24h.com and www.anime24h.com) are registered under the name of Mr. Le Van Van, with addresses in Ho Chi Minh City at 372/36/6 Dien Bien Phu, Ward 17, Binh Thanh District and 3/33/6 Da Tuong, Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa.

In addition, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Information and Communications also sent a letter to the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City requesting strict handling of the website www.compare.vn, registered under the ownership of Mr. Pham Hoang Cuong (824.28 AB Su Van Hanh Street, Ward 12, District 10). This website operates as a general information portal, self-editing news articles, and notably contains many articles with content that violates the law.
