Enduring the pain, Tran Tuan Quynh fought with unwavering determination to win the first match and battle it out in the final. However, ultimately, the Vietnamese team lost 1-3 to Singapore in the men's team table tennis final. The match ended at half-point, local time.

Tuan Quynh lost the first set 5-11 despite a promising start. He continuously allowed his opponent to score points after the 4-4 tie.
