Bank boss involved in drug party suspended
Mr. To Huu Tai has worked at Agribank Huong Khe branch for more than 10 years and has shown no "signs of decline".
On the afternoon of December 23, Agribank Ha Tinh II branch issued a decision to suspend Mr. To Huu Tai (Deputy Director of Agribank Huong Khe) from his position pending the conclusion of the investigation agency regarding his being caught red-handed using drugs at a karaoke bar in Huong Khe town two nights ago.
A group of government officials were arrested while using drugs in Ha Tinh.
Director of Agribank Ha Tinh II Vo Van Nhat said that upon receiving information from the police, the unit has arranged personnel to ensure stable operations at the Huong Khe branch.
"After receiving an official conclusion from the police, we will promptly and strictly discipline Mr. Tai according to the provisions of the law and Agribank," said Mr. Nhat.
Mr. To Huu Tai has worked at Agribank Huong Khe branch for more than 10 years and has been evaluated by his superiors as hard-working and showing no "signs of decline".
Previously, at around 9:30 p.m. on December 21, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Ha Tinh Police) coordinated with Huong Khe District Police to raid the Dubai karaoke bar (Huong Khe town) and discovered 13 people (6 men and 7 women) illegally using drugs.

All 13 people tested positive for drugs. The group of young men said they rented a room at a karaoke bar to hold a "drug party" to celebrate their friend's birthday.
In addition to Deputy Director Tai, the "ecstasy party" also included officials from Huong Khe Forestry Department, a female primary school teacher and an accountant at a local kindergarten.
"We are waiting for the conclusion of the investigation agency and will not cover up any violations," a leader of the Huong Khe Department of Education and Training affirmed.
