Director of General Department of Roads 'incognito' at Cai Lay BOT
On the afternoon of December 2, the Director General of the Vietnam Road Administration was present at the "hot spot" Cai Lay BOT to inspect the situation.
Mr. Nguyen Van Huyen arrived at Cai Lay BOT station in Tien Giang province at 2:00 p.m. and witnessed chaos at the toll gates. Cai Lay BOT station continuously released the station and then resumed collecting tolls.

Drivers kept honking. This situation happened not only when Mr. Huyen arrived at Cai Lay BOT but also at many times during the day.
On December 2, at Cai Lay BOT station, the station had to be continuously opened due to the drivers' reactions in many different ways, leading to a prolonged traffic jam on National Highway 1.
As of 11pm, Cai Lay BOT station has been closed nearly 10 times.

On the afternoon of December 2, after inspecting the situation at Cai Lay BOT, Mr. Nguyen Van Huyen had a meeting with the project investor at the headquarters right next to the toll station. This was a closed meeting surrounding the tense issue of the Cai Lay BOT project when the station officially resumed collecting tolls, starting at 9:00 a.m. on November 30.
