Super Typhoon Mangkhut devastates Philippines, 25 people killed
Super Typhoon Mangkhut with strong winds of 205 km/h swept through the northern Philippines, directly affecting 10 million people.

After more than 20 hours of raging on Luzon Island, Philippines on September 15, super typhoon Mangkhut has killed at least 25 people, according to authorities.
With winds of up to 205 km/h, the typhoon devastated the northern Philippines, causing 42 landslides and flooding. Among the dead were two rescue workers. More than 4 million Filipinos live in the storm's path, and 10 million people were directly affected by the storm.
Typhoon Mangkhut is expected to hit Hong Kong. The Hong Kong government issued a level 9 storm warning at 8am this morning and may raise the alert to level 10 with waves up to 14 metres high.
The eye of the storm is expected to pass 100 km south of Hong Kong and sweep across Guangdong province. Shenzhen and Macau are also in the area of impact.
In Hong Kong, the first signs of Typhoon Mangkhut have appeared. According toReuters, large waves continuously hit the shore, strong winds shook the windows of high-rise buildings on the morning of September 16. Hundreds of flights were canceled. People living in low-lying areas were evacuated.
