'Super bull' Centenario Roadster priced at 2.26 million USD

Convertible supercar celebrating the birthday of Lamborghini founder, limited production of 20 cars.

On August 19 at the Monterey Car Week event (USA), the Italian supercar company introduced the convertible version of the Lamborghini Centenario called the Centenario Roadster. The previous Centenario coupe was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016. The super product celebrates the birthday of founder Ferrucco.

The Centenario is based on the Lamborghini Aventador, but features an aerodynamic bodykit and improved engine power.

Like the Aventador, the new supercar Centenario is developed based on a carbon monocoque frame, with a V12 engine located at the rear. While the Aventador has 700 horsepower, the more powerful Aventador SV version has 750 horsepower, the Centenario reaches a new limit, 760 horsepower. Thanks to that, the "super bull" sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and then reaches a maximum speed of 349 km/h.

To restrain the power, the Italian supercar company uses carbon ceramic brakes and magnetorheological shock absorbers. The 4-wheel steering system can change direction to keep the car balanced and stable when cornering. The gearbox is similar to the Aventador with an independent ISR (Independent Shifting Rod) type.

The Lamborghini Centenario Roadster costs $2.26 million, while the coupe costs $1.9 million. The supercar will be on display at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, an event taking place in the US from August 21.
