Before the news of Minh Beo’s trial, supermodel Ha Anh shared a very long post on her personal page. First, she affirmed the serious effects of the incident.
Ha Anh wrote: "Child sexual abuse brings haunting mental trauma to them for the rest of their lives. Some children will never have a normal life, become self-conscious, resentful, lose faith in people and life, and are at risk of having a sexual orientation deviation when they grow up. Some children have autism which can lead to suicide."
Ha Anh also expressed her indignation: "But nowhere like Vietnam, when learning about a sick person abusing children, can there be comments like "everyone makes mistakes sometimes". This proves that the awareness of the majority of our people is too childish, careless, and disregards the emotions and psychology of children."
According to Ha Anh, because the majority think like that, "there are too many children in Vietnam who are abused and neglected by those around them" and "there are too many sick people in society, and children and women, the weak and defenseless, are the easiest prey.
Society's indifference to their health, rights, reputation and spirit is the ideal "cover" for sick people to continue harming other victims.
The supermodel asked: "If the victim were your wife, your mother or your innocent children, would you say things like 'Everyone makes mistakes in life' and then let it go?"
